We were privileged to have His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Syed Mohamad Hasrin Tengku Hussin, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations (UN) in New York, the United States (US) to join us as a speaker on our Wednesday Club. We were also honoured to have His Excellency’s spouse, Her Excellency Ambassador Datin Sarah Nava Rani Albakri Devadason, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Germany joining us as a Guest of Honour and Mr. Hafiz, Minister Counsellor of the Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the UN.

During the session, His Excellency shared a brief overview of the history of Malaysia’s seat in the UN as well as highlighting the multilateral efforts as a pivotal part in global stability. His Excellency shared his knowledge and experience as the representative of Malaysia to the UN, particularly in the conflict resolution approach between countries, establishing peacekeeping taskforce, and pushing global ceasefire consensus for COVID-19 pandemic. His Excellency also underlined the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to bring awareness towards the global pandemic situation and how every country must cooperate to achieve SDG despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Apart from that, His Excellency encourages the youths to be the leading people of the digital future.
